Programme Description

Why choose to study this program?

Mechanical Engineering and Automation is a four-year, English-taught undergraduate programme that combines fundamental mechanical engineering principles with modern automation and intelligent manufacturing technologies. The programme provides students with a strong foundation in engineering mathematics, physics, mechanics, materials science, electrical engineering, computer programming, and mechanical design.

Students study key subjects including mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, manufacturing technology, CAD/CAM, CNC technology, mechatronics, industrial robotics, automation and control systems, sensors, and intelligent manufacturing. The curriculum also introduces students to production management, quality control, sustainable manufacturing, and smart factory technologies.

Practical learning is an important part of the programme. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory experiments, engineering workshops, CAD/CAM projects, CNC machining, robotics programming, automation system development, industrial training, and engineering projects. These activities help students develop technical, analytical, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Graduates are prepared for careers in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, automation, robotics, mechatronics, production, maintenance, and industrial systems. They may work in automotive, aerospace, machinery, energy, electronics, and intelligent manufacturing industries. The programme also provides a strong foundation for postgraduate studies in mechanical engineering, automation, robotics, manufacturing, and related fields.

From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

Objectives

 Graduates will apply the theories and concepts of biology, mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering sciences essential for successful biomedical engineering; demonstrate the practical and technical skills required for biomedical engineering practice; communicate and work effectively with others; fulfill their professional responsibilities toward society; and apply engineering design principles to open-ended problems while considering technical, practical, and societal constraints.

Biomedical Engineering Student Outcomes

 Graduates will be able to understand and address challenges involving living tissues and engineered systems; work safely and independently in laboratory environments; design and conduct experiments; analyze and present experimental results using graphical and statistical methods; integrate knowledge from diverse fields to solve biomedical engineering problems; communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences; work effectively in multidisciplinary teams; continuously update their professional skills; evaluate ethical issues in biomedical engineering; understand the social impacts of biomedical advancements; assess client needs and relevant technical, regulatory, economic, environmental, and societal constraints; develop and evaluate creative engineering solutions; and critically review and improve proposed solutions to meet identified needs.
